About the Role:
Mobile Core is the metaphorical engine of Mobile at Twitch. We are the backbone of every feature and every release going out to our beloved customers. Our team owns the underlying infrastructure within the apps, the infrastructure building the apps, and the core features like video playback. As an iOS Engineer on Mobile Core, you will focus on developer velocity, highly performant user experiences and insisting on the highest standards for app quality and performance. You will identify and lead complex projects with large scale influence and collaborate with engineers and partners across the company. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Mobile Core iOS and work remotely or from either our Seattle, Los Angeles, or our New York City offices.


You Will:

  1. Build delightful frameworks, drive their adoption amongst internal developers and measure their impact.
  2. Champion prioritization of projects alongside your engineering leadership and product managers.
  3. Insist on the highest standards for mobile development at Twitch by defining best practices and policies.
  4. Identify opportunities across the mobile development stack to boost developer productivity and happiness.
  5. Mentor and cultivate the growth of the engineers around you.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  4. BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
  5. 3+ years of industry iOS development experience using Swift.
  6. Experience communicating complicated technical problems to both technical and business audiences.
  7. Experience working with iOS specific development tools, such as XCode, SwiftUI, CocoaPods, Firebase, or Swift Package Manager.
  8. Experience leading large scale engineering projects with multiple stakeholders.
  9. Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit, CloudFormation, or Terraform or equivalent technologies.
  10. Experience with other object-oriented programming languages, such as C#, C++ or Python.
  11. Fluency in some subset of UI design, data modeling, algorithms, and database schema design.
  12. Experience mentoring and growing engineers.
  13. Familiarity with Twitch, either as a viewer or creator (or both!).

Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position will remain posted until filled.
