We are looking for an Airframe Liaison Engineering Supervisor to join our Airframe Liaison Engineering team located in Poway, CA. With limited direction, this position exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for the review, research, design, development, and/or solution to advanced technical engineering problems. May function in an advisory or project leadership role providing direction to experienced professional staff. Formulates plans, typically long term, for solution development, documentation, and deployment, as well as meeting various compliance, reporting, and safety standards. Evaluates the integration of the engineering solution within the overall engineering environment; and ensures that appropriate documentation, testing, maintenance, and engineering updates are completed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads a team of 3-4 liaison engineers in sustaining existing GA-ASI unmanned platforms.
- Creates, investigates, and executes Change Requests (CR) and Change Notifications (CN) for composite drawings and specifications.
- Prepares and briefs CR/CN in front of Change Control Board (CCB) stakeholders.
- Provides depositions for nonconforming production parts as the Material Review Board (MRB) engineer.
- Coordinates with various engineering groups such as Airframe Integrity Group, Material & Process, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering to resolve complex issues.
- Identifies root causes of engineering/manufacturing issues and works independently to resolve them.
- Expected to work closely with production floor clarifying engineering drawing intent.
- Assists management with tactical execution of all department activities including managing, mentoring, developing, and training.
- This position is based out of Poway, CA and will require on-site support at product manufacturing and integration sites.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows: twelve or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, ten or more years of experience with a master's degree, or seven or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Backgrounds in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering desired.
- Prior management experience leading a team in an engineering or manufacturing setting desired.
- Experience and knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings with emphasis on composite lamination and airframe integration.
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing methodologies desired.
- Working knowledge of GD&T ANSI Y-14.5M.
- Experience using CREO Parametric or similar CAD software.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment desired.
- Basic project management knowledge.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Salary: $116,480 - $208,505
