Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob DescriptionWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Mechanical and MEP group at our growing RTP office as SME Mechanical Engineer. Your Day-to-day Will Include: • Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design, specific to Mechanical and HVAC Engineering • Have thorough knowledge of the applicable Building, Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Codes • Have ability to design mechanical systems, energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations • Prepare engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection • Prepare drawings and layouts; proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD • Prepare technical construction specifications • Coordinate with other disciplines with both in house and outside consultants • Perform field observations as part of the construction quality assurance process What You’ll Need: • 4-year Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution. • Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred • High level of written and verbal communication skills. • High attention to detail. • Proficient computer skills in Revit, AutoCAD • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)Hard SkillsMechanical EngineeringBuilding SystemsHVAC and Plumbing DesignRevitAutoCADMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)Soft SkillsHigh level of written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detailJob TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Durham, North Carolina and some days remote.Work EnvironmentIndividual would need to work out of the Durham office for 3-6 months and then have more flexibility following getting.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
