Position: Civil Engineer (Site Development), PE- GBA

Location: Lenexa, KS

Civil Engineer, P.E. (Site Development) - Lenexa, Kansas

The Civil/Site Development Group at GBA is looking for a civil engineer to join our team at our headquarters office in Lenexa, Kansas. The Civil/Site team provides site design and construction documents for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential developments including mixed use, office, retail, multi and single family residential, warehouse/distribution, medical, and recreational facilities.

Responsibilities

1. Lead design of site engineering plans to include site plan layouts, site grading, storm drainage, water, utility, street and sanitary sewer design, and erosion control plans.
2. Prepare calculations, design drawings, and specifications for civil/site projects.
3. Assist with the collection and analysis of field data.
4. Prepare written studies and project design technical reports.
5. Attend meetings with clients to deliver information and project status updates.
6. Oversight of construction observation activities.
7. Coordinate with project team, utility providers, contractors, and permitting authorities.
8. Participate in project proposal assembly and presentations.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering degree.
2. Kansas Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure.
3. 5+ years of related civil design experience.
4. Adept at working on fast-paced projects.
5. Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Word and Excel software required.
6. Experience using HEC-HMS preferred.
7. Possess effective communication skills, both written and oral.
8. Must be able to work effectively both on a team and individually.
