We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to work on a long-term contract basis in Sunnyvale, CA, for Walmart. This position is ideal for someone with deep Android expertise who is eager to contribute to large-scale mobile applications that reach millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, optimization, and enhancement of Walmart's Android applications.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product managers to deliver a user-friendly mobile experience.
• Architect scalable, high-performance Android apps using Kotlin and Java.
• Implement cutting-edge features and maintain existing codebase to ensure smooth, bug-free operations.
• Conduct peer code reviews and maintain coding best practices to ensure high-quality releases.
• Participate in Agile methodologies, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Android app development experience with expertise in Kotlin and Java.
• Proficient in Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with various screen sizes.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries to integrate mobile applications with backend services.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, patterns like MVP, MVVM, and best practices.
• Experience with performance optimization, testing, and debugging.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid setup (remote + on-site).
