One of our top clients , a leading electrical contractor in Omaha, NE, is seeking a highly motivated Lead Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. In this crucial role, you will play a pivotal role in securing profitable commercial and industrial projects by preparing comprehensive, competitive, and timely estimates.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze bid documents, plans, and specifications to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of estimators (if applicable).
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather project information and ensure clarity on scope of work.
- Research and maintain a comprehensive database of current material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize estimating processes and timelines.
- Present bids to clients and negotiate contracts (if applicable).
- Review and analyze bids received from subcontractors (if applicable).
- Track and manage project estimates throughout the project lifecycle (if applicable).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical estimating.
- Proven ability to prepare accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices (NFPA 70E, NEC).
- Proficiency in electrical estimating software (e.g., Planswift, McElroy) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team (a plus).
