Process Engineer (R&D)

A prominent and rapidly growing specialty materials/chemical manufacturing organization seeks to hire an R&D Process Engineer at their flagship site in the Greater Nashville, TN area due to their continued expansion. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position will lead both product and process development activities for a new, proprietary product line.This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new and modified processing technologies (equipment, systems, controls, etc.) for new products.
• Oversee pilot-scale production/operations for in-development products including maintenance and process improvement.
• Support new product R&D trials and NPD.
• Prepare CAD drawings for new equipment/system designs and modifications.
• Design and develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Contribute toward capital project activities for the site.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.) required.
• 2+ years of process engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong familiarity with developing P&IDs and PFDs.
• Exposure to capital project engineering/management.
