Responsibilities :
* Perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments. This includes developing all of the specifications required for installation forces to properly install, turn-up, inventory, and configure the equipment, obtaining appropriate management approvals, issuing purchase orders, creating applicable diagrams/ drawings, and ensuring vendor delivery.
* Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.
* Develop Bill of Material and place orders for network equipment, rack, and hardware requirements.
* Define cable requirements, create cable running lists, and order all cables.
* Order all spares required based on sparing plan or directed by capacity management.
* Manage, input, and update central Network Inventory Database to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions.
As an Interconnect Engineer, you will be part of a team that works with the latest technology to provide our customers access to our many network components including 5G systems. You will be responsible for providing end to end technical oversight and project management for transport network expansion projects. These projects focus on the expansion of the network hubs in support of EBH, dark fiber, ng MLS, and microwave network.
Providing technical support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation for all equipment supporting Network infrastructure projects including, but not limited to network hub power/space/cooling, equipment installation, equipment integration, and network readiness.
Planning, designing, and implementing the latest transport technologies in support of our 5G network rollout, in addition to, supporting the existing 4G LTE infrastructure.
Managing vendor selection, contract negotiation, RFP and ongoing relationships.
Utilizing an internal database to document all fiber assets, and design end to end circuit paths to include equipment configurations and card/port assignments.
Developing and maintaining circuit delivery schedules for each project and actively managing and driving the vendors to meet our deliverables.
Running various utilization reports to evaluate capacity, and issue design changes as needed to maintain optimal performance of the network.
Working with Network planning on strategic initiatives to develop future technology solutions that support our infrastructure.
Collaborating with other network groups to ensure projects meet expectant demands in support of the company's objectives.
Managing capital spending on a monthly basis to align with forecasted spend and project timelines.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience. (Working on Macro New Builds, Small Cells, In-Building, Forced Relocations, Mobile Deployment) Circuit Design, Tess Events, Contract Amendments.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A Degree
- Provide support for designing the company's interconnect Network (e.g., leased lines, dark fiber, microwave) which support our business. Partnering with our vendors to order, deliver, and install all interconnect facilities which involves maintaining circuit inventories, managing the expansion of the Network, identifying Ethernet back haul solutions, and ensuring compliance with company standards and practices.
- Assist to support the development and expansion of networks through provisioning, coordinating, and implementing circuits.
- Maintain capacity by analyzing the network, forecasting future needs, and coordinating with vendors to meet demands.
- Coordinate the acquisition and installation of equipment supporting the network infrastructure.
- Provide design and implementation support for data routers, Ethernet backhaul interconnect and other supporting data systems.
- Manage vendor relations including equipment, product, and/or service selection, procurement, budgets, and performance.
- Experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of IP addressing, routing principles, and network design.
- Demonstrated experience with circuit database platforms

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $134,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
