Career Path: The Level IV Engineer can advance to the Level V Engineer position with 3-5 years of experience in the field.
The Civil Engineer IV is a senior-level position, responsible for overseeing and managing complex civil engineering projects. The incumbent will apply advanced engineering principles and techniques to plan, design, and execute a wide range of infrastructure projects. The Civil Engineer IV will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success, while demonstrating technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Design and Analysis: Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and plans for various civil infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, drainage systems, and site development.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and practices to solve complex engineering problems, considering factors such as feasibility, safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and other engineers, to coordinate project activities, resolve issues, and ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards throughout the design and construction phases of the projects.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Client Liaison: Interact with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical guidance, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Quality Assurance: Review project deliverables, conduct inspections, and implement quality control measures to ensure projects meet the highest standards.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering through continuous learning and professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard design software and tools.
  • Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers

Salary Description
$85,000 - $130,000
