Join the Apple Services Engineering team, as a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager, to help support and scale cloud services for thousands of development and operations engineers. This is a hands-on role to establish SRE practices for a private cloud service to accelerate our ability to reliably and consistently deliver thousands of applications.DescriptionAs a Site Reliability Engineering manager, you will be leading a team responsible for providing the platform for mission-critical cloud systems to maintain constant uptime, scale seamlessly, and allow for new applications and services to flourish. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with a passion for excellence, quality and detail. The SRE Manager will support operations, collaborate with the developers and architects to aid in the design; and assist with the implementation to improve stability, security, and scalability.Minimum QualificationsExperience with Cloud Computing technologies (particularly Kubernetes)Experience with Puppet, Chef or AnsiblePassion for automation and reluctance for manual implementationExperience managing enterprise services in a large-scale nix environmentDesire to build, grow, and mentor a teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsSkilled at working cross-functionally to achieve project successStrong philosophy of continuous improvementStrong sense of ownership wanting to understand how things work and resolve root causesAbility to encourage and foster a culture of visibility and transparency across teamsAble to troubleshoot issues across the entire software stackExperience operating large-scale multi-tenant infrastructure as a managed serviceExperience managing, scaling, and troubleshooting Java, GoLang and GPU applicationsDesign and deploy GPU-accelerated VM and container infrastructure using platforms such as KVM, Qemu, AWS, or Google CloudTechnical (Engineering or Computer Science) BS/MS degree or equivalent work experienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
