The Lead PL/SQL Developer is responsible for the architecture, development & integration, implementation, and support of Enterprise-wide business critical applications. This individual will work closely with application developers (Oracle ML and PL/SQL, JAVA/J2EE & PICK) and business analysts in creating functional and scalable applications from design and development through implementation for business clients. This position will support development and integration of new and existing business critical applications using primarily SQL, PL/SQL, JAVA, and Oracle RDBMS.

This position has responsibility to provide technical leadership to the development team, assist the Accountable Manager in managing the technical risks for the overall program/projects, and establish guidelines, best practices, and standards that need to be followed by all members of the development team. This position ensures that documentation is created for system designs and modifications, and assists collaboratively in following the established software development life cycle procedures to develop, test, and modify system software, utilities; support integrations with other applications by coding, reviewing, preparing test data, testing, and debugging.

This position is responsible for the daily workflow and leading the work of assigned staff, mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback on performance.

Duties

  1. Mentor and guide other development team staff members in application design, development, deployment, modification, and enhancements utilizing SQL and PL/SQL.
  2. Provide leadership and support for development/maintenance on Oracle Database & Web-based Portal applications.
  3. Prepare short and long-term plans to address infrastructure projects.
  4. Work closely with other Leads and recommend schedules for application server and database upgrades.
  5. Evaluate and seek solutions to production issues as well as new projects.
  6. Manage complex projects, engaging and updating key stakeholders.
  7. Lead the work of assigned staff; oversee daily office workflow and recommend enhancements to processes and procedures.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Business Administration. In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:

  1. Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical function creating and maintaining databases for software applications.
  2. At least 3 years of lead experience.
  3. Experience in development and implementation of Integration solutions for business applications across multiple platforms.
  4. Extensive Oracle database and Application Server development experience.
  5. Must acquire and enhance technological expertise by becoming current with evolving systems.

Preferred:

  1. Experience and understanding of Managed Health-care Information systems.
