Our client is looking for a qualified electrical (or mechatronics) engineer to join the management team & work alongside their existing mechanical engineer in Tsitsikamma, Eastern Cape. The job requires a will and ability for people management while also being technically astute. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership abilities, a positive attitude, good people skills, motivation to succeed, and good problem-solving skills. The primary objective of the role is to help the company efficiently process raw materials and reach production targets on an ongoing basis. This will be facilitated by implementing existing work practices, i.e. Checking that current procedures are being implemented correctly. In addition to this- by closely monitoring production processes- the engineer is expected to cost-effectively ‘engineer out’ issues that detract from reaching or exceeding production targets. This may be through modifications to machinery or working methods. The job is not office bound- most of the time must be spent in the physical production environment. The job is not only managerial- there is an expectation of physically getting involved in production/projects/breakdowns/maintenance to gain a deep understanding of the process. Requirements: Matric. Engineering degree. (non-negotiable) Clear criminal record A starting salary indication is R40 000 per month. In addition, cost-effective housing can be provided on-site. A pension fund membership to which the company contributes 8.65% is an additional perk.
