Backend Java Developer : Fifth Third Bank

Backend Java Developer for an end client requirement. We are in search of a Backend Software Engineer who excels not only in technical proficiency but also as a proactive problem-solver, critical thinker, and active participant in task development. This role is tailored for a dynamic individual who drives innovative solutions, engages actively in project planning, and significantly contributes to our implementation processes with policies and procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Define Domain-Driven Design for the enterprise.
2. Deliver API and real-time Data Streams for each domain.
3. Develop code and IaaS in AWS with Terraform.
4. Develop microservices using Java/Spring-Boot.
5. Design and implement new features, improving technical product and application quality.
6. Act as a technical expert and developer on an agile squad.
7. Drive architecture of solutions across multiple services and applications.
8. Develop software meeting code quality standards and metrics.
9. Guide communities of practice, mentoring developers, enforcing standards, and sharing knowledge.
10. Achieve operational excellence through automation and writing maintainable, supportable, and testable code.
11. Maintain partnerships with operations and engineering teams to drive service improvement.
12. Stay current on IT trends relevant to your area of practice.
13. Assist with problem resolution for end users and customers.
14. Create and update operational procedures for routine management processes.
15. Ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Essential Qualifications

1. Java/Spring Boot, Java 17+ expertise.
2. REST API development experience.
3. Containerization familiarity.
4. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field, with 8+ years of experience.
5. Software development best practices knowledge.
6. Git and GitHub experience.
7. Software development methodologies understanding.
8. Security best practices in software development.
9. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Developing using OSX experience.
12. Unit Testing with JUnit proficiency.

Desirable Skills And Abilities

1. 12-factor applications experience.
2. Microservices development using Node/ExpressJs.
3. AWS experience & Elastic Container Service (ECS) knowledge.
4. Greenfield application development experience.
5. Terraform experience.
6. Configuring and tuning Tomcat Embedded.
7. Hashicorp Vault familiarity.
8. Jenkins CI/CD experience.
