Auria is looking for a Software Engineer 3 to join our C2BMC team supporting Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program in Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is for a Principal Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The selected candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language, performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
Essential Functions:
- Command and control system application development.
- Maintains, debugs, and configures related software products.
- Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.
- Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
- Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system.
- Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation.
- Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require instruction and guidance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) at the start or within 60 days of start.
- Software engineering and software development with Java/JEE experience.
- Experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits.
- Knowledge of server-side/database development and computer system administration.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Experience with Software Integration testing, including developing automated test scripts.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including reviewing performance issues, identifying root causes, and recommending and developing a solution.
- Ability to work independently and with the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams.
- Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify/SonarQube mitigation.
- Experience working as part of an Agile team.
- Use of common software development and management tools such as Git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and Eclipse.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks is highly desirable.
- Automated test and pipeline development experience desired.
Salary Range: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($99,000 - $113,000).
