Summary

Performs a variety of engineering work in planning and design of products, tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment and mechanical industrial processes, and oversees production, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment, including centralized heat, gas, water and steam systems. May work closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of robotics to increase production quality, efficiency or volume.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.

Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Plans and designs products, tools, engines, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment and mechanical industrial processes.

Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

Oversees production, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.

Designs and tests fabricated improved mechanical components for production or quality control equipment.

Develops and tests machinery and equipment.

Devises, fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.

Studies mechanical processes and recommends new or revised machines or components.

Applies engineering theory to solve mechanical or fabrication problems.

Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Benefits/Salary:

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $90k - $110k.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks Design software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

BS in Engineering or equivalent experience or training.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

5-10 years aerospace manufacturing experience

Material Deformation, Metal Forming Experience Preferred
