Our client is growing and looking for a Service Engineer to join their team. This is a direct hire position. You’ll be working for a company that started designing and building all types of gages for the global manufacturing market over forty years ago. Their diverse product line includes standard and custom gages, is based on extensive research and development, and is considered a full-service provider for all dimensional inspection needs.
Responsibilities:
- Use strategies and resources to resolve customer issues
- Ensure expectations are exceeded by engaging with clients, engineers, and other technicians
- Respond to customer service requests promptly
- Monitor equipment and machinery performance, conduct quality and safety checks, and implement preventative maintenance measures
- Present and conduct demonstrations about how to use gages and equipment safely and correctly
- Provide recommendations on new features and improvements to our customers and internal teams
- Prepare regular reports summarizing issues, discoveries, and solutions uncovered during interactions with customers, engineers, and technicians
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, experience working in the automotive industry, and knowledge of product launches and programs
- Basic understanding of GD&T, ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, and ability to engage with those considered technically advanced
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of metrology
- Possess significant knowledge of OEM/Tier-1 automotive and heavy truck sales schedules
- Ability to travel as needed and periodic travel to China, Mexico, and Europe may be required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Excellent active listening and customer service skills
- Ability to deal with multiple requests simultaneously and pressure
- Possess a strong work ethic and a growth-orientated mindset
