As a Senior Platform Engineer at Centersquare DC , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our robust and scalable platform infrastructure. Your role will focus on troubleshooting, installing, and providing expertise on our specific applications while leveraging platforms such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Rancher, and Harvester. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline deployment processes, improve system reliability, and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration across development, testing, and production environments.
- Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD to automate and streamline continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Troubleshoot, install, and optimize applications within our Kubernetes environments, providing deep expertise on application-specific issues.
- Manage and support our Rancher environment, ensuring smooth operations and resolving complex issues.
- Administer and maintain our Harvester virtualization platform, optimizing resource allocation and performance.
- Develop custom automation scripts and tools to enhance platform scalability, monitoring, and reliability.
- Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and uptime of platform services and applications.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application performance and resource utilization.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex infrastructure and application-specific issues.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in cloud-native technologies, containerization, and DevOps methodologies.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Linux administration
- Advanced Python programming skills
- Experience with configuration management tools (SaltStack preferred)
- Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes
- Proven track record in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Platform Engineer or similar role in a fast-paced technology environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, deployment patterns, and ecosystem tools (e.g., Helm, Istio, Prometheus).
- Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), microservices architecture, and service mesh frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in distributed systems and applications.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote or distributed work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Rancher for Kubernetes management
- Familiarity with Harvester or similar virtualization platforms
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu)
- Contributions to open-source projects
