As the CNC Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our CNC machines and leading a team of CNC machinists. You will ensure the efficient and accurate production of high-quality precision parts while providing guidance, training, and support to the team. Your expertise in CNC machining, leadership, and problem-solving will contribute to the success of our operations.

Requirements:

  • Set up, operate, and program CNC machines to produce precision parts.
  • Verify that CNC programs and machine settings are accurate and optimized for production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any programming or machining issues that arise.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on programming and machine operation.
  • Lead and supervise a team of CNC machinists, providing direction and support.
  • Assign tasks and monitor workload distribution to ensure efficiency and meet production targets.
  • Train new team members on CNC machine operation, programming, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans for team members.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and specifications.
  • Perform regular inspections of machined parts to verify conformance to requirements.
  • Identify and address any quality issues or deviations in production processes.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the production planning team to prioritize jobs and optimize machine utilization.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement measures to enhance efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine performance, tooling, or programming.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to provide input on design for manufacturability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and enforce safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns or hazards.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree or certification preferred).

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, including experience in CNC machine programming.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining principles, programming, and operation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precision in machining operations.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC machine controls.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements:

The majority of the job function is performed in a manufacturing setting requiring a high degree of safety precautions.
