Position Overview:

1. 3+ years of experience developing applications
2. C/C++ programming experience.
3. Familiar with Linux development environment and tool chain (gcc, linker, Makefile, debugger, etc.)
4. Java language experience (GUI development a plus)
5. Scripting language proficiency (Python, Perl, Bash)
6. Network programming with BSD sockets
7. Some experience with version control tools (Git, CVS, etc.)
8. Understanding real-time principles and concepts.
9. Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Primary focus is on Software Development in a Real-Time Linux environment related to Linux Kernel and I/O Device software and hardware.
2. Secondary focus is to provide technical support for software and hardware to both internal and external customers.
3. Some understanding of I/O devices is required.
4. Contribute to improving the technical knowledge base and effectiveness of other engineers.
5. Interface with co-workers and staff from other departments and ensure positive working relationships.
6. Impart technical expertise within the department, and to customers, users’ groups.
7. Perform such other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences.

2. Some standing and walking required.
3. May be required to lift or carry up to 34 pounds occasionally.
