What YOU Will Do:

  • Design, develop, test, validate, and maintain software to meet test equipment requirements that are traceable to customer system specifications and software detail specifications for various types of specialized automated test equipment.
  • Maintain and advance the development of a reusable and configurable standard software architecture.
  • Develop and maintain test documentation, plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Write requirements and detailed design documents.
  • Develop Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) from conception through implementation.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues that may be software, hardware, system, or product related to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Communicate technical issues through written, verbal and presentation media.
  • Support to the manufacturing/operations group as needed to help ensure on-time delivery of product.
  • In performing these activities, the Software Engineer will interface with Customers, External Suppliers, Program Managers, Engineering Managers, Mechanical, Software, Electrical, and Systems Engineers, as well as the Manufacturing organization.
  • Project management of various projects with small teams of test engineers and outsourced test equipment hardware build.

  • Lead multidisciplinary projects: Hone your project management and leadership skills by guiding small engineering teams and coordinating with experts across software, electrical, hardware, and manufacturing domains.
  • Optimize complex systems: Troubleshoot and solve intricate software and hardware challenges to improve product quality, performance, and delivery timelines.
  • Innovate with state-of-the-art tools: Develop cutting-edge automated test equipment using PXI, cRIO, FPGA, and other advanced data acquisition systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) or Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD).
  • National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Embedded Developer (CLED).
  • Familiarity with standard avionics busses including 1553, ARINC, CAN, RS485, RS232, and 1394.
  • Experience with PXI based National Instruments hardware, cRIO, FPGA, and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong background in electrical troubleshooting.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
