Description
Trinity Solar is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our residential solar engineering team – this position can be hybrid, in-office or US-based remote. This is a fast-paced, structured process environment, and the ideal candidate should be comfortable working under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously with an emphasis on project safety, cost, quality and reliability.
Roles & Responsibilities
Assist with preparation of documents for project design including calculations, drawings, and specifications that are complete, accurate, and consistent with local, state, and federal engineering practices.
Stamp 50+ letters per day for structural designs of residential solar projects.
Work cross functionally with other teams within and outside the engineering department to ensure clients’ needs and internal deadlines are met.
Coordinate structural related issues with CAD design team for solar projects.
Provide engineering expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of residential solar installation projects.
Work closely with other team members to ensure successful project completion.
Prepare technical reports and documentation to support project designs.
Maintain project schedules and be responsible for meeting project deadlines.
Communicate effectively cross-organizationally.
Continuously improve processes and systems to ensure optimal project outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
Licensed structural engineer with strong experience in the design of residential engineering projects (wood construction), ideally with solar experience but not required.
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license and willingness to obtain licenses in multiple states is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering.
Experience with stamping structural designs for residential (wood) construction projects.
Strong knowledge of codes and standards related to residential construction projects.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
