Mechanical Design Technician
Pay rate: $45.00-$52.00/hr - Paid Weekly
Location: Madison, WI
• Work schedule - Standard morning 8-9am start/8 hour shift, 5 days a week. No OT or weekend work Primary duties for this position?
1. Build mechanical enclosures and components of test systems.
2. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures.
3. Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
4. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and safety standards in all work activities.
5. Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to ensure proper coordination of mechanical work.
6. Maintain accurate records of work performed, in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP).
7. Provide technical support and guidance to other staff.
8. Estimate material and labor needed to complete mechanical projects and repairs.
9. Support and test mechanical, electrical and/or software designs.
10. Create tools, test equipment and their specifications, as needed.
Technical and soft skills required for this position?
1. Ability to read schematics/drawings and specify, source, and build additional test fixtures.
2. Test enclosure fabrication and assembly 3. Experience with SolidWorks - machined metal, plastic, sheet metal parts.
4. Wiring harness assembly and troubleshooting 5. AutoCAD Electrical 6. Soldering 7. Ability to follow electrical diagrams 8. Experience fabricating electro-mechanical test systems 9. Familiarity with LabView 10. Familiarity with Windows based test systems
- Work experience's industry? Nice to haves: Familiar with medical terminology. Experience working in an FDA regulated environment.
- Education requirement? Min. 2-year Mechanical, technical, or related degree / completion of a Mechanical Apprenticeship. Education can be replaced with a min. 2 yr Mechanical Tech exp.

• Preferred Skills in the following areas:
o Test enclosure fabrication and assembly
o Wiring harness assembly and troubleshooting
o AutoCAD Electrical
o Soldering
o Ability to follow electrical diagrams
o Experience fabricating electro-mechanical test systems
o Familiarity with LabView
o Familiarity with Windows based test systems
