The technology uses a combination of sensors, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms to automatically detect when products are taken from or returned to the shelves, and to charge customers' accounts accordingly. Key job responsibilities
As a key member of the Just Walk Out engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of brick-and-mortar retail. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented engineer who is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize the in-store shopping experience.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead the technical vision and roadmap for the Just Walk Out platform, driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable systems that power the core functionality of the Just Walk Out technology.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help the team grow and improve.
- Participate actively in team meetings and discussions, contributing your ideas and insights to shape the long-term strategies.
- Partner with senior engineers and stakeholders to influence the overall direction of the Just Walk Out platform.
- Ensure the highest standards of code quality through thorough reviews and testing.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address any issues.
To succeed, you should be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. Experience working with AWS technologies is a plus.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
