Engineering department manager

Fargo steel fabrication company is seeking a full time Engineering Department Manager.

Duties include:

1. Supervising an 8-9 person Engineering Department responsible for producing structural steel, miscellaneous metal, and rebar fabrication shop drawings.
2. Currently using SDS2, RebarCAD, and AutoCAD software.
3. Monitoring all jobs and workflow through the department to meet customer needs.
4. Working with subcontracted details to handle overflow work.
5. Communicating with customers and the production department.
6. Reviewing and interpreting contract drawings and specifications as well as shop drawings.
7. Reporting directly to the Vice President.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Expertise in reading contract drawings and specifications, specifically structural, architectural, mechanical, and civil drawings.
2. Proficiency in SDS2 or Tekla, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam software is preferred.
3. Managerial experience in steel fabrication is a plus.
4. Minimum 2-year degree in drafting technology; BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
5. Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough.
