Job Description
The Fleet Simulator Training unit (FST) is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and training at all fleet simulators. The unit oversees naval training at thirteen Fleet Interactive Display Equipment (FIDE), and four Virtual IDEs from Yokosuka, Japan to Kings Bay, GA. FST is staffed with Resident Engineers, each one responsible for one of more FIDE or VIDEs, and a Platform Lead for each of the FIDE ship classes. FST is seeking a Platform Lead for a surface class.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years of relevant experience or; MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience or; Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified or qualified SIT and three years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program
Preferred Skills
• Currently or previously qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor, or higher, on a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant.
• Experience in IDE operations, IDE testing, I&C equipment testing, change control process, and configuration control.
• Able to communicate with regulator verbally or in written format
• Demonstrated experience in team building and providing work direction and leadership.
• Experience successfully working with subcontractors and facility engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus with colleagues across multiple locations.
• Ability to provide verbal and written feedback to FIDE staff and Local Training Command supervision during audits at field locations.
• Intermediate user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project

Pay Range
$103,100.00 - $161,100.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
