DescriptionBecome part of an inclusive organization with over 40,000 teammates, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the unique communities we serve.Job Summary:Manages the department's responsibilities for life safety compliance under Joint Commission, Office of State Fire Marshall and the Division of Health Service Regulation rules and regulations with respect to the building infrastructure.Description of Job Responsibilities:Assist with mock Joint Commission life safety surveys including patient care areas, physical plant shops, and mechanical spaces. Performs any other tasks deemed necessary within the plan engineering department to ensure the integrity and operation of the hospitals is maintained.Maintains and implements above ceiling audits of the facility's rated barriers and partitions. Manages the corrective process related to the finding from these audits as well as any other life safety deficiency found with the hospital's properties.Manages the Environment of Care documentation for plant engineering. Conducts departmental audits to ensure all records and repairs are properly documented and readily available. Reviews and manages inspections and preventive maintenance of the hospital's rated doors.Manages the Joint Commission Statement of Conditions including the building audit, creation and implementation of plans for improvements (PFI?s) and developing scope and funding for corrective actions.Researches and develops means to maintain and/or implement life safety compliance or interim life safety compliance measures and manages risk reduction activities in the physical environment within the hospital's properties. Supports life safety programs and renovations. Supports safety projects and building infrastructure improvements. Manages barrier permit inspections and reviews to ensure installation compliance. Maintains written documentation of corrections with permits. Provides ILSM drawings and documentation as required, assists with staff education as to their appropriate interim route and other applicable measures necessary to ensure compliance with life safety during construction and maintenance projects where required.Reviews plans and specifications for renovations and new construction projects with regards to life safety compliance. Performs site inspections for departments? managers in regards to construction materials, methods and installations for compliance.
