The Senior Product Developer will work with Senior Leadership of the Product development team to coordinate the development and execution of all product categories of the collection from Design through pre-production stage.

  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet the deadlines of the seasonal calendar.
  • Must be able to anticipate and mitigate risks and or issues and demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities to resolve potential roadblocks with cross-functional departments.
  • High attention to detail and thorough in tasks management.
  • Knowledge of European mills and competent in fabric and trim sourcing.
  • Knowledge of hard wovens, soft wovens, denim, cut and sew knits, leather goods, and the relevant sewing constructions that apply toward each category.
  • Proficient in garment costing with the ability to advise solution-based improvements to hit target margins
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal / written skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate priorities within product development team and or cross functional departments.
  • Solution oriented and strong initiative to deliver.

Job Duties:

  • Works within the team to develop seasonal collections from design conception of the collection through to pre-production hand offs.
  • Meet company calendar deadlines.
  • Communicates key information regarding raw materials, finished product, and garment construction to design, Senior Product development leadership, and Pre-production departments as needed to minimize any potential production issues and or delays.
  • Self Manages Development process alongside Senior product development leadership from design point of conception to finished product.
  • Launches, test, and obtains approvals with design for fabric, lab dips, trims, and all new raw materials.
  • Maintain, update, and review product development WIP charts daily throughout the seasonal process to ensure status accuracy of all relevant information.
  • Flexible; able adapt to changes; thrives in an ever-changing and fast-paced collaborative work environment.
  • Jobdutiessubject to change due to business needs.

Required experience:

  • Product Development: Min 7-10 years.
  • Knowledge of garment construction related towards hard wovens, soft wovens, denim, cut and sew knits, leather goods.
  • Knowledge of denim wash, and garment dye PFD goods with experience communicating with Laundries and dye houses.
  • Trim and fabric purchase ordering, development and sourcing both domestically and or Europe, and Asia territories.
  • Existing PLM / PDM is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in garment costing with the ability to advise solution-based improvements to hit target margins
  • Knowledge of time and action and production calendars. Must have experience meeting deadlines for multiple seasons and overlapping collections.
  • Experience communicating with Vendors, Mills, factories, Pattern Makers, Sample Sewing Rooms, Laundries, and Dye houses.
