As a Senior Engineer, you will be owning and building our microservices, APIs, data layers, mobile apps, and dashboards on the Checkturio SaaS platform. Your tasks

1. You work together with CTO to define the technology strategy.
2. You take responsibility for the entire development cycle - from architecture to implementation, automated testing, performance testing, deployment, and maintenance.
3. You implement and optimize backend services, features, algorithms, and APIs.
4. You’ll work closely with mobile & web engineers.
5. You optimize solutions to achieve required usability, performance, stability, and scalability.
6. You'll work with PMs and other engineers to define, design, and develop our SaaS platform.
7. You will guide and advise junior colleagues on software quality, best practices, and design patterns.
8. You participate in Checkturio's ideation and innovation process to identify the next breakthrough developments.
9. You promote our engineering culture by constantly updating your knowledge and adapting new technologies.

Your profile

1. Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. You have a track record of writing great code that is performant, scalable, and maintainable.
3. You are an excellent senior programmer in Java with a min. 6 years of experience, and additional experience in Python or Kotlin are a plus.
4. You have professional experience with backend frameworks such as Spring or similar.
5. You are adept at designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and flexible data storage strategies and have previous experience with some leading SQL and NoSQL solutions.
6. You understand algorithms and their complexity.
7. You know coding conventions, best practices, and design patterns.
8. You have implemented microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
9. You are familiar with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS, and building apps with docker containers.
10. You have experience with automated deployment and monitoring through CI/CD pipeline.
11. You have practiced agile development methodologies.
12. Only for Berlin/Brandenburg residents due to public funds.

Nice to have:

• Experience with mobile or web development are a plus.
• Experience with machine learning is a plus.
