We’re looking for an experienced, thoughtful senior software engineer to accelerate our product development. This is a backend-leaning role, with a strong collaborative element.

We’re early stage, so you'll have an outsized equity stake and an unparalleled opportunity to shape the product direction.

Candidate requirements

• Cares deeply about holding both code and teams to a high standard.
• Knows how to design data models, work with large datasets, implement APIs, and leverage cloud infrastructure to achieve your goals.
• Strong perspective on the responsibilities of the all parts of the stack, and able to debug issues across the frontend, API layer, backend, or database.
• Experience working closely with other engineers teams, comfortable with some organized chaos, and capable of managing their time to work effectively.
• Has worked on a product development team shipping iteratively
• 7+ years of experience building backend applications: You have experience build scalable systems that are able to process data to power features and user experiences.\
• Experience with NodeJS, Postgres, and AWS.
• Cares about building a great product experience with Shelf, has high level of user empathy.
• Pragmatic; knows when to take on technical debt, descope features, work on architecture, and prioritize enablers.
• Excited to work in person with the team in New York.
• Startup experience,comfortable adapting rapidly while remaining focused on a goal.

The salary range is $130,000 - $180,000
