What you'll be doing...

This role is expected to streamline the Software Life Cycle Development (SDLC) processes for all the Billing Services interfaces developed in Java/Spring Boot technologies, implement and solidify the CI/CD pipeline to be more agile which is very essential in delivering the Billing Modernization program on time and with the highest quality by adapting industry best practices. Define a robust process to detect and notify the fallouts between Customer Experience Platform and Billing platform and establish an automated recovery process for every fallout to ensure 100% of Rating & Billing accuracy. Must come up with a strategy to optimize the current monolithic batch applications and transform into distributed microservices for efficiency and scalability.

This role is extremely critical in delivering the Billing modernization program on time & with accuracy as every transaction that carries the $ amount for all Verizon wireless customers. This role is expected to partner with a cross-functional group of leaders from the systems of engagement, customer experience platform, systems of records and other business units to architect, design and manage the Billing Services Profile and Inbound Batch Interface.

  • Leading the design and architecture of all the inbound interfaces to the Rating & Billing Platform, including customer profile attributes, and must ensure 100% flow through.
  • Introducing, recommending and implementing Industry best technologies and practices for all inbound interfaces to the Rating and Billing platform.
  • Having a deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability for the Billing Services and Usage Broker applications.
  • Developing and introducing new proposals and technology to enhance business productivity including automation, process & business enhancements.
  • Providing leadership to a cross-functional team of architects from multiple vendors and internal end-to-end architects.
  • Providing leadership to develop innovative solutions through bringing industry-leading technology and solutions.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience within architecture development, integration of backend systems and development.
  • Experience in developing applications using Java/J2EE, with Spring boot framework knowledge and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SOA, Architecture and Design on Microservices, REST Services and Soap Services Development.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, J2EE, Cassandra, Spark and Python.

Even better to have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with design patterns, clean code.
  • Experience with middleware/messaging technologies such as MQ, Kafka and exposure to event-driven design patterns.
  • Good understanding of AWS architecture and AWS services, including API, RDS instance, and Lambda to build serverless applications.
  • Experience with open-source tools and technologies to replace or integrate with existing systems and architecture that drives and delivers business benefits / superior customer experience.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive - a team leader who can lead both strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Experience in handling large scale / volume based applications.
  • Candidates with a Telecommunication background, networks usage processing and usage Rating would be highly preferred.
