Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking to hire a Transition & Decommission Systems Engineer to join our team and lead the coordination of efforts pertaining to the development, documentation and maintenance of technology transitioning and decommissioning within corporate architecture. You will be responsible for defining, refining and publishing processes, standards and best practices for efforts that are transitioning, tracking and reporting on the execution of all technical transitions, maintaining the integrated master schedule for status for transitioning and decommissioning efforts, and maintaining and developing database processes for tracking T&D efforts as well as new technology efforts.
What you will do
  • Gather and document legacy functions required in the modern architecture
  • Translate functions into Minimal Viable Products
  • Track transition development, facilitate risk assessments, and document meeting discussions and actions
What you need to have
Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 15 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 19 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
  • You must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Have at least 5 years of Transition and Decommission experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and practices
  • Knowledge of corporate architecture, processes, standards, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
What we'd like you to have
  • Experience in development/ implementation of SE processes and procedures
  • Experience with Transition & Decommission of legacy systems
  • Experience in producing and interpreting DoDAF artifacts
