PPG is looking for a Process Engineer to join our Sheffield Village, Ohio plant. You will lead the overall process that standardizes long term strategic direction for Coating Services SBU at our Sheffield Village location. You will act as the champion for systems that maintain continuous improvement for safety, quality, and operational excellence. You will act as the gatekeeper for new business by managing the program and pricing process for new business. You will lead the completion and startup success of new improvements and capital projects. You will report to the plant manager. Key Responsibilities Serves as an EH&S leader, owner, and role model for the plant. Support the sustained engagement improvement for the plant. Own the process for new programs brought to the plant. Help implement improvement items needed to move off track results back to target. Provide training to plant personnel as needed. Meet with current and potential customers. Provide assistance using tools including 8D, DMAIC, 5-Why, value stream mapping, and kata when appropriate. Provide direction for initiatives using project management tools. Own the success of new business, capital, and improvement projects. Leads and coaches team on best practices for improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in operations, mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering (ABET accredited) required. 5+ years related experience is required. Team development, team leadership techniques and project management experience. Have leadership, problem analysis, problem solving, processes improvement skills and consults with leadership team to provide expertise in improvement techniques.
