Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician located at WPAFB, OH. This is a 2nd Shift position with hours from 3pm-11pm EST. The Mechanical Technician's primary function will be to plan, modification, maintenance, and repairs of all NASIC real property facilities while supporting NASIC LG and read HVAC prints and define major components of an Air Handler with basic understanding of psychometrics. Responsibilities include: Responsible for planning, modification, maintenance, and repairs of all NASIC real property facilities Participate in the sustainment, restoration, and modernization facility work for NASIC on behalf of host base Civil Engineer Utilize LG Facility Issues Tracking System (FITS) & perform miscellaneous facility duties Participate in quality assurance of completed work to ensure proper repair and maintenance performance Climb ladders and perform job duties at higher elevations Knowledge of civil engineering work structure is highly desirable Other duties as assigned Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements: Must be a US citizen Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance Basic understanding of psychometrics Must possess knowledge of a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning complex technical requirements for facilities and equipment. Must possess a demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, telephones, fire alarms, fire protection, and physical security systems Knowledge of basic Air Force budgeting principles, concepts, and practices, and government purchase card procedures and use. Knowledge of various security systems constructed for vastly different technical uses, including special access required areas. Skilled in determining deficiencies and preparing complete documentation for new construction or repair and alteration projects Skilled in observation and analysis of project and work progress, ability to determine if schedules are being followed, and determine causes of delays to meet project deadlines Skilled in preparing government cost estimates, statements of work, research of parts, materials, and supplies supporting facility management operations Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, ability to work well with peers and all levels of management Ability to read and interpret paper- or computer-based engineering drawings and schematic diagrams, and to use automated systems to retrieve, maintain and update documents and records All positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations.
