We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Exton, PA office as a Senior Process Engineer . The selected candidate will be working on fast paced technically complex design/build projects in the industrial, chemical, biotech, pharmaceutical, and food industries.

How will you contribute to the team?
  • Lead a range of process engineering activities associated with delivering successful solutions to our clients in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical industries, and specialty chemical industries.
  • Work directly with clients to define project requirements and deliver appropriate solutions to meet the stated needs based on a defined budget and schedule. This work is done in conjunction with process engineering team members, and members of other disciplines.
  • Develop standard engineering documents associated with projects at various stages of execution from Conceptual Design to Construction and Commissioning. Example deliverables include:
    • User requirement specifications
    • Process and basis of design narratives
    • Utility and process flow diagrams
    • PIDs
    • Equipment specifications and datasheets
    • Equipment lists
    • Instrument lists
    • Line lists
    • Tie-In lists
    • Specialty item lists
    • Relief valve calcs and sizing specs
    • Piping specifications
    • Sequence of operations
    • Controls descriptions
    • Startup and commissioning documentation
    • HAZOP participation & documentation
    • Mass and energy calculations
    • Equipment RFP preparation
    • Bid tabulations
    • Process and clean utilities descriptions
    • Provide input for development of cost estimates
    • Develop and execute validation protocols
    • cGMPs and sanitary design concepts
    • CIP system design
    • Contaminant dispersion calcs
    • Dossier file preparation
    • Materials storage and distribution system design
    • Wastewater management system design
    • 3D Model conceptual packages
  • Verify the correct implementation of the systems as designed and compliance with applicable standards (e.g. cGMPs) during the execution phase.
  • Support the Project Manager with the start-up and commissioning efforts during the startup and commissioning phase.
  • Execute projects varying in size with a focus on projects of larger scope and/or higher technical complexity.
  • Ensure the quality of design documents.
  • Develop junior engineers.
  • Reinforce an atmosphere of safety and a commitment to design excellence.
  • Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
What will you contribute?
  • Education level: BS or higher in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • PE license preferred; not required.
  • Minimum 15 yrs experience in process engineering preferably in our core industries
  • Familiar with requirements of cGMP and regulator guidelines, including as related to equipment qualification and validation.
  • Experienced with utility, clean utility and clean process equipment specification, installation, startup, etc.
  • Experience in a design-build delivery methodology is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing for effective communication in multidisciplinary project teams involving representatives from the client, various departments within AtkinsRéalis, and other consultants and contractors.
  • Results oriented, with good organization skills, attention for detail, and the capability of efficiently working simultaneously on multiple projects.
  • Positive perspective with the ability to engender a team attitude amongst colleagues and clients.
  • Computer knowledge: MS Office and MS Project. Experience with AutoCAD, HYSIS, AFT or similar process simulation software packages is desirable.
