About The Role

The Principal iOS Engineer will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. As a Principal iOS Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading our Mobile development team to create cutting-edge mobile applications. You will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing high-quality iOS solutions that meet our business objectives and exceed user expectations. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision will drive the success of our mobile projects and contribute to the overall growth of our company.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the design and development of robust and scalable mobile applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
  • Architect and implement high-quality codebase using Swift and Objective C, leveraging iOS SDK, Jetpack components, third-party libraries.
  • Work closely with react native, Ionic and Android engineering teams to provide iOS expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive product innovation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Mobile development team, conducting code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, code quality, performance optimization, and software architecture.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in IOS development, evaluate new technologies/tools, and make informed recommendations for adoption.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the Mobile development team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on IOS development topics, provide technical guidance to stakeholders, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.

What You Will Need

  • Strong proficiency in IOS development using objective-c and swift, with a deep understanding of IOS SDK, Jetpack components, and related frameworks.
  • Experience in designing and developing complex, high-performance IOS applications with a focus on user experience, performance, and scalability.
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices such as Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Familiarity with mobile UI/UX principles, material design guidelines, and responsive design techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and leverage new technologies, tools, and techniques to solve complex technical challenges and improve development processes.
  • Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging tools to ensure smooth and efficient operation of IOS applications.
  • Proactive in identifying potential issues, proposing solutions, and driving continuous improvement in code quality, performance, and best practices.
  • Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation.
  • Demonstrated project development and leadership skills.
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
  • Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant field preferred.
  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $143,040.00 - $240,310.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries based on the posted role, level, and location.
