Who are we looking for?

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering and tool room teams. You will oversee that both teams provide process, maintenance, and engineering support to our specialty chemical manufacturing plants.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensures that all project work, whether conducted by plant personnel or vendors, is conducted in a timely manner and consistent with in-house safety and protocols.
  • Project management skills: ability to multitask on multiple projects at a time while communicating effectively with the teams required for each individual project.
  • Oversee the automation of both chemical and mechanical processes.
  • Result-driven; with ability to troubleshoot, communicate, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and coaching to the team members; encourage them to be strong performers and succeed in their roles.
  • Manage CAPEX projects to complete on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead preliminary Hazard Analyzes (PHA) and FMEA for CAPEX projects, equipment, and processes.
  • Interface with various departments and global teams to manage the process engineering functions toward process control, continuous improvement, and alignment.
  • Travel 10% of working time both domestic and international.

Who are You?

  • Degree in a science or engineering discipline, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2-3 years of managerial experience is required.
  • Familiar with engineering standards and ability to read P&ID, mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of extrusion, punching, stamping, milling, rolling, and spooling processes.
  • Proven experience of Lean and Six Sigma Continuous Improvement techniques is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical hazards, safety, and quality management systems.

What competencies will you need?

  • Experience in managing plant turnover and electrical shutdown is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in Eveva automation tools, SolidWorks, and JDE is preferred.
  • Create presentations and organize/lead team meetings.
  • Ability to communicate across the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.
