Job Description

Microchip is seeking a Product Marketing Engineer (PME) for its FPGA business unit. The PME will be responsible for in-bound and out-bound product marketing, business development, product lifecycle management, and understanding competitive landscape in the FPGA market.

Product Management and Inbound Marketing

  • Operate within a cross-functional environment including engineering and application teams to provide technical input on customer requirements and feedback, to seek and provide resolution to product issues and enhancements
  • Own and execute technical marketing activities on Microchip products including development of business plans, marketing plans, product introduction, sales training, and product promotion

Product Promotion and Outbound Marketing

  • Create, maintain and enhance technical customer-facing presentations on Microchip products and capabilities.
  • Represent Microchip at trade shows, exhibitions, and webinars by staffing the Microchip booth and by presenting technical papers at various relevant shows and conferences
  • Present product updates and product promotions to customers onsite or virtually

Business Development

  • Identify and target new customers with our extensive FPGA portfolio
  • Review sales opportunities, design ins, and design wins with sales team and escalate any issues preventing successful and expedient closure of opportunities
  • Provide inputs to the FPGA forecasting team
  • Present quarterly business results, design opportunities funnel, and initiatives to the executive management team

Travel Required

  • The position will require travel for 10% to 25% of the time. International travel to Europe, Asia and India may be necessary.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent.
  • 0-2 Years of relevant experience
  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and be able to communicate Microchip’s position and message on complex technical issues, as well as listen carefully to customer inputs and relay those inputs accurately back to the Microchip engineering and management teams.

Preferred Experience

  • FPGA design, validation or application support
  • Digital or analog ASIC design, validation or application support
  • ASIC or FPGA CAE tool development or application support

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $64,480 - $128,000.*

  • Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
