We're looking for a Lead Designer, Design Systems to join Snap!
What you’ll do:
- Work on a holistic design system spanning enterprise, consumer, and augmented reality applications.
- Create, evangelize, and execute a vision for the visual future of Snapchat.
- Develop and maintain UI components, patterns, and guidelines for a cohesive user experience.
- Create and manage design documentation, including Figma libraries, style guides, and patterns, to help adoption and consistency of usage across Snap.
- Work closely with engineering to deliver new components to our system.
- Simplify complex design challenges while adhering to established principles.
- Perform design audits and reviews to ensure alignment with our system and brand guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in design systems and advocate for their integration into our processes.
- Mentor junior designers; foster a culture of design excellence.
- Collaborate in critiques, brainstorming, and cross-functional workshops to drive innovation.
- Cultivate strong relationships with product, engineering, and design teams, influencing product direction.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of design systems, design thinking, and user-centered design principles.
- Experience in creating and maintaining design components and pattern libraries.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering pixel-perfect design assets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and high level strategy clearly.
- Refined taste in art and an eye for design.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a design role with a focus on design systems.
- Experience using Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or other design tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design work and demonstrating a high level of composition, typography, layout, and concepting.
- Experience developing and documenting cohesive visual systems.
- Knowledge of product design process.
- Brand / Agency design experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of product strategy.
- Knowledge of basic development practices.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $165,000-$230,000 annually.
Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $157,000-$219,000 annually.
Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $140,000-$196,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
