A NauWork client is seeking a Back-End Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity.

This startup is building a revolutionary travel platform using social and artificial intelligence to make the world more approachable. Their software allows people to save and share the places they’ve been and want to go while cultivating community. They leverage machine learning, social relationships, and network effects to build the modern travel guide that empowers people to dynamically discover new places and experiences - tailored to their personal travel style - while connecting them with relevant travelers.

The right person is a travel enthusiast who is skilled in a variety of back end technologies and frameworks. You’re both an innovator and a collaborator, you thrive in dynamic early stage environments, and you’re excited to build things that have never been built before.

Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with front-end engineers to contribute new features to the Node + Postgres back-end that powers the web app
  2. Ensure that the back end systems are performant, scalable, and reliable
  3. Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
  4. Produce well-designed, testable, and efficient code
  5. Make sure that travelers using the product have a seamless experience
  6. Emerge as a key player on the team, collaborating with the Head of Engineering and Head of Product

Required Experience:

  1. 3-7 years of back-end development experience, preferably in an early stage start-up environment
  2. Software engineering or equivalent degree
  3. Experience using Typescript, Node.js, and Postgres in production applications
  4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality applications
  5. Commitment to balancing quality, speed, and collaboration to hit deadlines
  6. Experience architecting clear and concise backend systems
  7. Personal travel experience + enthusiasm

Preferred Experience:

  1. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Firebase
  2. Experience with consumer, social, and / or travel tech
  3. This role is fully remote but bonus points if you’re local and can join weekly lunches at classic favorites and new hot spots around Atlanta
