Location : Hybrid/Suitland, MD

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented DevOps Engineer to support our federal client. Gunnison has a strong history of performance and a positive, collaborative relationship with the customer, and looks forward to continuing this productive relationship.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab, Jira).
  • Maintain, improve, and implement monitoring and alerting.
  • Maintain and build highly available systems.
  • Collaborate with technical teams.
  • Work on projects using Agile methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiar with ELK stack components (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, and Logstash).
  • Proficiency in at least one primary coding language (e.g., Java or Python).
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of database concepts and SQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), virtualization, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Demonstrated expertise in building scalable and high-performance software systems.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Jira.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and lead in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality software projects on time and within scope.
  • Years Experience: 5+ years (additional 2 years experience may substitute for BS degree).
  • AWS and Agile/Scrum certifications required.
  • Prefer knowledge of and experience with Bash and Linux.

Education Requirement

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field OR 2 additional years of experience as a software engineer.

Clearance Requirement

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
