Program structure:
  • Duration/Schedule: full-time during the summer months
  • Fully Onsite
  • Start Date: May 2025
What you'll need:
  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Preferred experience:
  • Experience with Auto CAD and Pro-E.
What you'll do:
  • Assist in the analysis and testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Support the development and optimization of metallurgical processes, including melting, casting, and heat treatment.
  • Conduct metallurgical investigations and failure analyses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in research projects focused on new materials and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, tests, and analyses.
  • Document and improve processes.
