As a Front End Engineer (FEE), you will be responsible for challenging the status quo, raising the bar on every service and feature we build, driving the team’s long-term vision and architecture, shaping roadmaps, and providing technical leadership to the engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive design and architecture experience, deep hands-on front-end development experience, knowledge of AWS technologies and services, and a proven track record of building mission-critical, highly scalable systems. You consider usability, accessibility, and performance in the products you build and work backward from the customer to anticipate their needs. You leverage your knowledge of the nuances, pitfalls, and strengths of the various front-end development frameworks and associated best practices.
Key job responsibilities
As a Front End Engineer, you will:
- Actively participate in overall product strategy and UI presentation.
- Be involved in every aspect of the UI for new features – from idea generation, exploring different design options, and technical design through software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.
- Collaborate with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Designers to ensure the best experience for our customers.
- Design highly functional and lovable UI. The software must be well tested and high quality.
- The UI must be compliant with accessibility standards set at Amazon.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
