Job Description
The Customer Service System Implementation department is a cross-functional project team of representatives from Con Edison Company of New York, Orange and Rockland Utilities, and vendor partners, responsible for maintaining and further developing the Oracle Customer Care and Billing (CC&B. Under general direction of either the Manager or Section Manager, the position is responsible for working with contractors, the business areas and other New Customer Service System (CSS) team resources to identify, document, and test defects and enhancements for functional changes to the CC&B system. The Project Specialist will provide analytical support, and supervise tasks and resources to accomplish project goals. The Project Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert for Retail Choice functionality related to the maintenance of operational excellence and a seamless customer experience for both New York and New Jersey customers.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
  • This position is responsible for working with contractors, the business areas and other New Customer Service System (CSS) team resources to identify, document, and test defects and enhancements for functional changes to the CC&B system in regards to Retail Choice. The Project Specialist will provide analytical support, and supervise tasks and resources to accomplish project goals. The Project Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert for Retail Choice functionality related to the maintenance of operational excellence and a seamless customer experience for both New York and New Jersey customers.

  • Responsible for evaluating and prioritizing enhancement requests
  • Responsible for generating scope and schedule plans
  • Responsible for assisting with development and test cycle planning for defects and future system enhancements.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Customer Service regulations for New York and New Jersey are adhered to in functional design development and testing.
  • Responsible, either directly or through assigned resources, for sign off upon turnover of completed CSS changes and enhancements.
  • Makes recommendations (business and technical) to improve enhancement processes and efficiently release work to achieve desired benefits.
  • Responsible for working with Section Manager, enterprise business users and Information Technology to help develop roadmaps for future CSS enhancements to achieve improved operating efficiency.
  • Responsible for maintaining New CSS system documentation related to system change requests, testing, SOX and departmental procedures.
  • Work with auditing and SOX team to evaluate system processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining an up to date knowledge of technology solutions and approaches related to the New CSS and associated applications.
  • Assists in preparation of system justification documentation and provides business case data/analysis for proposed system changes.
  • Responsible for meeting with New CSS Section Managers and Managers to keep them informed of the status of requested system changes and enhancements.
  • Responsible for the implementation and production verification of all system changes and enhancements.
  • Participates in the Companys emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related work experience. or
  • Associate's Degree and 5 years of related work experience. or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of related work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following functional areas: Customer Accounting, Customer Service and Support Operations, Customer Meter Operations, Regulatory/Compliance, engineering, Information Technology (IT), Program Management, Implementation Consulting, or a related organization and/or field, required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, required.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), required.
  • Work effectively with all company departments, various levels of management and third party vendors, required.
  • Ability to organize and plan workloads for projects and employees, required.
  • Strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Experience in technical writing and experience in developing systems specifications, required.
  • Experience with Customer Service processes, preferred.
  • Experience with work management and execution, preferred.
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed.
  • Must be able to provide off hours support as required.
