New Opportunity!! Process Engineer II
NES Fircroft is actively seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer in North Jersey for a full-time long-term contract opportunity with our client's R&D Center in Annandale, NJ! This position will be focused on Process Equipment Design and Technical oversight for our client's research equipment at the facility and will likely run out through 2027!

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Lead a design team in the development of basic process design specifications or provide oversight of an engineering contractor's technical deliverables during the front end design / detailed engineering phases of projects.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor and lead junior engineers in the development of process design specifications, including the development of heat & material balances, design flow plans, process equipment design, preliminary hydraulic balances, utility balances, basic process control & instrumentation, materials selection, safety facilities
• Lead and/or perform process optimization studies to identify / evaluate capital / operating cost savings, process configuration alternatives, safety facilities requirements, etc.
• Provide technical oversight for engineering contractor's work during front end engineering & design / detailed engineering to ensure consistency with Company methods & guidelines, project specifications & owner's requirements
• Participate in Hazard & Operability Reviews for new / modified facilities / in support of existing plant facilities
• Provide commissioning & start-up assistance for new / modified facilities, as required
• Establish organization and staffing process
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
-BS degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, required
-Experience in petroleum refining / chemical process industry / with an engineering contractor serving these industries
-Capital project development experience
-Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
-Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
-Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
-BS (or higher) in Chemical or Mechanical engineering required.
-Demonstrated ability to solve unstructured problems, prioritize work, and adapt to changing requirements.
-Strong foundation of technical troubleshooting of operational issues is necessary.
-Proficiency in safe mechanical design of small vessels is a plus.
Scope of Work specific to this Assignment:
Typical work involves small projects and operations associated with research equipment. As such, the individual will complete detailed engineering, including process and mechanical design, and provide technical guidance to electrical design team for pilot plant and laboratory equipment projects. The individual will develop quality assurance plans and ensure quality of final work product and workmanship against design specifications. This individual will provide technical support to operations for running units, including troubleshooting pilot plant mechanical issues, modifying units, equipment specification, and provide technical work direction to trades.
