Description
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing automation systems.
- Design and develop PLC and loop controller systems according to project requirements in a timely manner.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs and loop controllers from various manufacturers (e.g., Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley).
- Create and manage HMI (Human Machine Interface) terminals for user interaction with controllers.
- Program equipment controllers and implement additional controls as needed.
- Design and layout electrical control panels, enclosures, and associated controls.
- Develop and maintain databases.
- Document control system designs and track modifications for future reference.
- Participate in performance testing, commissioning, and project startup.
- Collaborate with engineers and IT teams to ensure designs meet standards and are delivered accurately and on time.
- Address and resolve end-user issues with automation equipment.
- Provide technical, diagnostic, and repair support to Manufacturing and Service as required.
- Assist with facility electrical troubleshooting, coordinating with electricians and external vendors.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Controls Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Over five years of relevant experience or training in automation and controls engineering.
- Proficient in programming PLCs using ladder logic (LL), function block diagrams (FBD), and other programming languages.
- Knowledgeable in industrial communication protocols such as HART, Modbus, BACnet, and Ethernet/IP.
- Experience in HMI design and programming.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
