Job Description

Duties:

1. Design and implement JEE software applications in WebSphere Application Server, Weblogic, JBoss, or any other related JEE server.
2. Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, Rational Application Developer (RAD), JDeveloper, NetBeans, HP Quality Center, and JIRA for design, development, and testing the software.
3. Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, then elicit feedback and refine solutions through demonstrations.
4. Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology.

10. Apache HTTP Server, IBMIHS.
11. Java Web Containers (Tomcat, Jetty, etc.).
12. JEE Server experience (Weblogic, Websphere, JBOSS, etc.).
13. JMS.
14. JDBC.
15. JPA, Hibernate.
16. Experience working with users to define requirements and demonstrate solutions.
17. Experience designing and delivering complex, highly-scalable software components.

Qualifications

Desired knowledge and experience includes:

1. Bachelors of Science degree with 6+ years of experience in the above-mentioned IT fields.
2. Developing 100% automated unit tests.
3. Using the Eclipse and Rational Application Developer (RAD) IDEs.
4. Agile development approach.
5. Good communication skills (writing and presenting).
6. Strong initiative: must be able to take a high-level requirement, ask questions/seek clarifications, and get the job done.
7. Ability to work in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment.
8. Superior written and oral communication skills are essential.
9. Must be able to multitask efficiently and progressively and work comfortably in an ever-changing data environment.
10. Must work well in a team environment as well as independently.
11. Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate information to a variety of groups at different technical skill levels.
