Piping Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer to join our team for the design of a new TRISO fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge, TN. As a Designer, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoDesk Plant3D P&ID and Vault. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the facility. Responsibilities

• Utilize Plant3D P&ID software to create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for the TRISO fuel fabrication facility.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications to produce accurate P&IDs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the design process.
• Review and revise P&IDs as necessary to reflect design changes and engineering modifications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, such as process, mechanical, and electrical, to integrate their inputs into the P&IDs.
• Perform quality checks on completed P&IDs to verify accuracy and adherence to design guidelines.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide technical expertise and insights.
• Support project managers in maintaining project schedules and deadlines.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in Plant3D P&ID software.

Requirements

• Formal education in design, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in using Plant3D P&ID software for the creation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Strong knowledge of TRISO fuel fabrication facility design principles and practices.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to P&ID development.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, sketches, and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise designs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Familiarity with other 3D modeling software and other relevant design tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with chemical/industrial plant design is a plus.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is not mandatory.
