What you’ll do as a Senior Lead Software Engineer:
- Take ownership for the domain-level technical roadmap, including technology selection, testing strategy, operations, etc., in collaboration with other engineering managers and leads.
- Work with engineering, product, and operational leads to refine projects, aligning on high-level approaches and milestones.
- You will be the first voice for your team’s technology, sharing information, ideas, and best practices outward.
- Lead your team in design sessions and ensure your team delivers high-quality work that aligns with DraftKings' engineering strategy.
- Collaborate with peer leads to stay abreast of developments within the division and more broadly across DraftKings.
- Provide technical mentorship and coaching to engineers on the team.
- Drive innovation by proposing ideas and leading proof of concepts.
What you’ll bring:
- Ideally, you have experience as the ‘expert’ on a development team where you were responsible for everything from planning to delivering key features and management of those features.
- Solid cloud-native experience with containerized microservices, auto-scaling, and managed infrastructures.
- Experience evolving high-scale, complex, business critical systems through time and changing requirements.
- Expertise with at least one object-oriented language like C# or Java.
- You have strong relational database skills using technologies like MySQL or SQL Server.
- Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure.
- You also have the ability to write automated comprehensive test suites at all levels of the architecture.
- Prior experience helping scale a rapidly growing company is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, real-time decision-making, and responsiveness to problem-solving that put the customer experience first.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $152,000.00 - $228,000.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
