An Electrical Building Systems Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the Ann Arbor area. The Electrical Building Systems Engineer is responsible for facilitating the startup and commissioning of electrical building systems. This role involves reviewing technical submittals, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and coordinating with contractors for project execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing system installation and conducting inspections to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.


The successful candidate should have 5+ years’ of experience in electrical system design and construction management, with at least 2 years in project management. A background in the automotive or industrial manufacturing sectors is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with design software such as Bluebeam or AutoCAD.


Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate the commissioning of electrical building systems and equipment
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and engineering designs for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, including Lock-Out and arc flash safety
  • Coordinate with contractors for equipment testing, installation, and handover
  • Oversee shutdown work and ensure adherence to project schedules
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality and code compliance, providing status reports to project managers
