Control System Engineer

Project Summary

We're looking for a Control Systems Engineer for a long-term contract within the entertainment (provider) industry. This role will work directly on the client's site presenting a unique opportunity to utilize your creativity and engineering skills while working with the most innovative technology; with the primary goal creating a thrilling experience for the customers!

Remote work option is a possibility if willing to travel to Pasadena/Burbank, CA.

Responsibilities (not limited to)

• Manage entire scope of design and develop control systems for a wide variety of complex and innovative systems and related equipment
• Conduct systems engineering for control systems
• Define system use cases and user needs
• Develop control system design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative platforms
• Develop and capture requirements and functional specifications in documents, drawings, and models
• Develop and implement mock-ups and prototypes for proof-of concept efforts
• Develop test requirements and documents, and lead testing efforts
• Ensure compliance with control system safety standards
• Research new products, technologies, and methodologies
• Design, model, and analyze control systems, data communication, and dynamic systems
• Collaborate with other design and engineering professionals to implement ride control systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering field from an accredited university
• 5 to 7 years of experience Control System Engineer role or equivalent; experience leading projects or consultant engineering preferred
• 3+ years' experience in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLCs
• Exceptional skills in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning
• Strong experience with and knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, serial, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
• Extensive knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
• Proven experience with requirements management, test plans/procedures, and test execution
• Demonstrated knowledge & understanding in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-year durations
• Capability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, coordinate team efforts, and manage tasks and priorities
• Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards
• Solid skills in technical document writing

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of motion control methods and components
• Experience working in Rockwell and Siemens automation systems architecture and components
• Proficient with engineering design tools, including AutoCAD, MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks
